Tonight is Ignite Boise 7, and it’s bound to be a lot of fun! People will share their ideas, folks will hoot and holler, and the beer will flow like wine.
But proceed with a hint of caution. Ignite is not designed to be a strictly family-friendly event. Lot’s of people bring their kids, and all ages are unequivocally welcome and encouraged to come. We’ve even had an 11 year-old present before.
Parents considering bringing young children to Ignite Boise — please keep in mind that Ignite can be a PG-13-ish event. While we remind the presenters that children may be in the audience, at Ignite:
- Speakers may use what some consider “foul” language;
- Speakers may discuss “adult” topics (e.g., drinking, sex, other “adult” subject matters); and/or
- Speakers may even include images in their presentations that some might find objectionable.
Because of that…parents should consider whether their children are mature enough to attend. The good news is that everything at an Ignite is fleeting. If you don’t like what you hear, just wait 5 minutes and it’ll be done.
So, as always, attend Ignite at your own risk. Ignite is YOUR event. It is composed of and attended by members of our community (i.e., you). We organizers have limited influence over what makes it up on stage; we really don’t know what’s coming much more than you do.
That being said, hang on and enjoy the ride! We’ll see you tonight at the Egyptian.
